REFERENCE FROM A CORPORATE CLIENT
Anita, you did a great job on the make-up as you always do so thank you. I will be in touch in the near future with some suggestions on working together on more jobs. - Mark Creed, Creative Director, Philosophy Hair.
REFERENCE FROM A DRAMA DIRECTOR
There are no set academic requirements for becoming a make up artist for films, but a good one will use their imagination to change the shape of a face, or create scars and wounds etc. This is the key. Anita did a fantastic job on Cargo, liaising closely with the producers, director, costume designer and the performers themselves. She had a strong visual sense and a creative imagination from the start.- Andi Reiss - Director.
REFERENCE FROM AN ACTOR
I worked with Anita Desmarais on the film Cargo, shot by Andi Reiss. The film is about four refugees who travel in the back of a lorry during the Balkan War. Given the grueling schedule, Anita not only looked after the leading actors with professional excellence, but also with great personal care, warmth and humor. Her make – up, in my opinion, was both subtle and beautiful. I could not recommend her more highly. - Daniela Nardini, actor.
REFERENCE FROM AN ACTOR
Anita Desmarais is a very imaginative make up artist, whom I worked with at Pinewood studios, a few years ago, on a feature film called Cargo, about Asylum seekers. She was required to indicate their slow suffocation and demise, in the back of a container truck. She is an extremely experienced and dedicated make up artist and an efects artist, whom I would most definitely recommend. - Heathcote Williams, writer/actor.
REFERENCE FROM AN ACTOR
Anita - you Fox! - the make up looked so good! especially for that scene when she is walking by his car. I am not that pretty in real life, but you made it look like I was - you are GOOD. Thank you again. - Corina Miller, actor.
REFERENCE FROM A COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR
I have worked with Anita on several projects and have been impressed with her creativity, expertise and professionalism. In particular, our most recent project based on Green Man mythology, required a couple of characters to be made up with bark and foliage to become hybrid plant/human figures, and we were very pleased with the results. - James Newman
